Overview: Upper Calf Creek Falls is an oasis amid a dry, hot desert. The hike is somewhat strenuous as it drops 500 ft to the canyon floor. Navigation is difficult in some areas as the trail is lost over sandstone buttes. Above the falls various pools provide a refreshing cool-down in the hot summer sun. You can explore further up or down the canyon. Following the creek can be an adventure as you walk along an oasis of greenery, however, there are no trails or paths exploring up or down the creek; it's an off-the-beaten-path adventure so don't get lost.

Approach: From Escalalante Drive north on Hwy 12 to Spur Road. Just before Boulder, Mile marker 80.8. Park and head off into the wilderness due west.
