Overview: Ever wonder where 127 Hours took place?  This is it! Be smart and play it safe.  Bluejohn is a canyon that offers high walls and narrows. Get your climb on 'cause this canyon has some scrambling and climbing areas. Like most canyons in San Rafael Swell, this canyon is off the beaten path, not traveled much- you are alone.

Approach: From I-70 head south on Hwy 24 to Temple Mountain Road.  Just ¼ mile south is a dirt road on the left (Co Rd 1010 | Lower San Rafael Rd). Take this road toward Horseshoe Canyon. Drive 23.8 miles to a prominent junction with a sign. Turn right (south) onto Roost Rd away from Horseshoe Canyon. Continue south 7.1 miles to a fork in the road. Stay left on Roost Rd heading toward Hans Flat Ranger Station. Continue another 2.7 miles to a small dirt road on the left (east) and follow for 0.2. Park here.  The Canyon is just north-east of the parking.
