Overview: Munds Canyon runs from I-17 to Oak Creek. Its length is about 6 miles. As the canyon approaches Indian Gardens, the canyon runs onto private property. Please respect the private property. When heading west from I-17, the private property starts just after the falls and narrow sections. Munds Canyon offers water, falls, pools, scrambling, and narrow sections.
Approach: From Flagstaff, head south on I-17 for about 17 miles. Just before the I-17 crosses Munds Canyon, you’ll come to Munds Park. You can exit Munds park (Mormon Lake Rd) and find parking away from the highway, or you can pull off somewhere off the highway near Munds Canyon.
Completing the Canyon: Hike the canyon east just past the falls and then head back once you explore the narrow section and falls.
