Overview: Calf Creek Falls is a Southern Utah landmark. This canyon offers a light hike to some beautiful falls and a refreshing pool. You will encounter beaver ponds and Indian hieroglyphs seen off on distant bluffs. The distance to the falls is 2.75 miles. Both Lower and Upper Calf Creek have an established trailhead and trail to their Falls. However, you cannot reach the Upper Falls from the Lower trailhead without some serious climbing gear, as sheer cliffs surround the falls. The Lower Calf Creek trail is sandy but easy to follow. The falls provide a cool and shaded area.

Approach: From Escalante, travel toward Boulder 14 miles. Turn off left BLM Calf Creek. 11.8 miles south of Boulder.

Completing the Canyon: From the parking lot, head north along the trail to Lower Calf Creek Falls. When you are finished, head back the way you came.
