Overview: Munds Canyon runs from I-17 to Oak Creek. Its length is about 6 miles. About half way the area becomes private property and it is best to turn around just after the falls and narrow sections – so yes the canyon offers water, falls, pools, scrambling and some narrow sections.

Approach:

From Flagstaff head south on I-17 for about 17 miles. Just before the I-17 crosses Munds Canyon you’ll come to Munds Park. You can exit Munds park, (Mormon Lake Rd) and find parking away from the highway or you can pull off somewhere of the highway near Munds Canyon. Hike the canyon east just past the falls and then head back.
