The Colorado Plateau is a graphic region of plateaus centered on the Four Corners: southwestern Colorado, northwestern New Mexico, southeastern Utah, and northern Arizona. For geographic purposes and canyon labeling in Arizona, the Colorado Plateau encompasses the northern part of Arizona. The most popular part of the Colorado Plateau is the Grand Canyon. Most all drainages and water courses run into the Colorado River and its main tributaries within this geographic area. Ten National Parks are located within the Colorado Plateau 17 National Monuments.
